Johanna Tabin (1925 – 2010)
Johanna’s father was a psychologist, and her mother was the 3rd woman to graduate from the Univ. of Illinois school of dentistry. Johanna graduated from Northwestern University at 18 and earned her Ph.D. from the Univ. of Chicago at 21. She studied psychoanalysis in London with Sigmund Freud’s daughter Anna, and co-founded the Chicago Center for Psychoanalysis. She treated hundreds of patients without charging a fee, wrote dozens of articles and books, and received two life-time achievement awards from the American Psychological Association.
